For a Lame One, Bush Ducks Fast!

Iraqi journalist throws shoes at Bush. Wow! Who knew Iraqi journalists had shoes?
-- American journalists have flip flops.

President Bush made an unannounced farewell visit Sunday to Baghdad, Iraq, where a man threw shoes at him. In Arab culture, throwing shoes at someone is considered an insult. As the man was dragged out screaming, Bush said, "Wow, with that smell, those must be shoes of 'mess' destruction."

Gas prices rose for the second consecutive day following eighty-six consecutive declines. On Sunday, the price of a gallon of gas rose 3/1,000ths of a penny -- probably not enough to make Bill Gates sell his Hummer.

As the economy sinks, School Nutrition Program participation is rising. Some 425,000 more students are participating in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs this year than last. And, reportedly, some 7-millon grandparents, who spend all their income on medicine, are going back to school.
